Good specimen of lustrous, dark blue veszelyite crystals on lighter blue hemimorphite. Great colors.
Please note - the cyan-blue color range is very difficult to reproduce in the pictures and videos. Some pictured specimens show slightly different shades of blue/green that seen with a human eye. They tend to be more intensively greenish-blue/teal/turquoise than navy/dark blue. Generally in our opinion the colors in reality are slightly prettier.
Specimen from a recent find (2019/2020) by the Spirifer Minerals` crew in the Republic of the Congo. Veszelyite is a rare, so called "Holy Grail", copper and zinc phosphate species, highly sought after by mineral collectors. It is found in macroscopic crystals at only a few localities on Earth. This particular find is considered one of the best for this rare and highly valued species. In some specimens veszelyite is associated with other rare phosphates such as kipushite and zincolibethenite. Read more about this find in our article HERE.
